World Kindness Day 2010

As the anniversary of the opening day of the first World Kindness Movement® conference held at Tokyo, in 1998, today is designated World Kindness Day. Therefore, make it a point to be kind to someone today. Simple acts like holding a door open for someone, giving up your seat to an elderly person, or even just saying hello with a smile on your face are the kind of courtesies that really make a difference.

On this date in 1927, the Holland tunnel opened between New York and New Jersey beneath the Hudson River and was the world's first long, mechanically-ventilated underwater tunnel. On November 13, 2001, Taliban troops were pushed out of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.
