The US Census Bureau reported that the 300 millionth American was born in the early hours of Oct 17, 2006. A baby girl born in Chicago, IL, at 5:58 am was probably that American—although there was a margin of error of a few hours. The US population now increases by one every 11 seconds. The 200 millionth American was born Nov 20, 1967.
Barbara Billingsley, of June Cleaver fame on "Leave it to Beaver," died yesterday at age 94. This is week 6 of the NFL 2010 season. Tonight is also the second game of the Giants vs. Phillies NL Championship series.
