On March 22, 1915, the third Wednesday in October was set aside each year as "Missouri Day." In the state of Missouri, it is a time for schools to honor the state and for the people to celebrate the achievements of all Missourians.
The third Wednesday in October is also Hagfish Day and National Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day.
